                            Information technology is the new science of collecting, storing and transmitting information. It has been very well realised that information technology is very important for the overall advancement of a country.





Awareness Of Information Technology - 
                                                  The importance of IT awareness among common people is very essential because it is fully utilized for the development of people belonging to a particular community. This can be done through the following -

2)  People to people contact, 
3)  Audio-visual aids,
4)  Newspapers,
5)  Proper education,
6)  Public meetings,
7)  Conference, meeting, seminars etc
8)  Visit to IT centres,
9)  Co-operation activities of NGO's,
10) Compulsory training curriculum.







Advantages- 
 
1) Person to person contact all over the world,
2) Personal / commercial/ buisness  activities,
3) Access to libraries all over the world.


Disadvantages -

1)  Too much initial expenditure,
2) May be misused by some persons,
3) The information available is not accussed sometimes.
